Changing local weather on HTC Touch

I bought a HTC touch for New Year (Windows Mobile 6). It is fantastic device. My 3rd PPC, but first smart phone. It has half size of my previous PPC (Dell Axim x50v) and axim was half size of HP Jornada 430se. I like it :-) .

Anyway every device require some hacking. My town (Langley, BC) is close to Vancouver, but still I want to see as local as possible weather on touch home screen. Unfortunately, Langley is not in the list.

So, I hacked the registry to make the changes to the local weather display on the home screen. Here is the method:

 1.               Download a registry editor like Mobile Registry Editor which allows you to edit the registry from your PC using ActiveSync.

2.               Then go to:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\HTCHome\Weather\Settings

3.               Change the location to “Langley, CA” and the loccode to “NAM|CA|BC|LANGLEY”
